Tired of getting back from a holiday and feeling out of shape? Many of us tend to throw our good habits out the window once we go on holiday – and, while it may feel good, it certainly doesn’t feel that great after a few weeks.

Others are actually able to take advantage of their time off and get back in shape during the holiday, though, and you can totally do the same.
The good news is that there are so many fun ways to stay active and healthy while traveling, and it doesn’t even have to feel like exercise. Here are a couple of ways on how to do it so that you can feel like a million bucks when you return home.
#1 Go to the beach
It shouldn’t be hard to convince any holiday-goer of heading to the beach straight away. It’s one of the reasons we look so much forward to our holidays; just hanging around in the sand, feeling our skin slowly tanning and our hair getting lighter. The feeling of having spent a long day at the beach is fantastic.
Yet, you don’t have to just lie around in the sand when you’re there, though, as there are so many fun things to do in order to stay active. Swimming and being in the waves is, of course, one thing – but what about some water sports? Or even a game of sandvolleyball?
Whatever sport or activity you’re into, it will be even better when you do it at the beach. Gather your friends for a short hour or yoga at the beach before you spend the next hour in the water, for example. Head back for lunch and feel how refreshing it is to be active.
#2 Try a new activity
When we’re off on holiday, we tend to try new things. It might be something as daring as ordering a meal in a foreign language or something exciting such as riding a camel. Try to do a new activity this holiday that you’ve wanted to try for a long time; buy some rock climbing clothing and rent climbing equipment, for example, or give surfing a shot.
Even if you don’t like it, it’s one of those things we just do when we have time off and are able to enjoy ourselves. Remember to take some pictures as well, by the way, so that you can look back at your time as an adventurous and fun holiday person.
#3 Keep walking
One of the great things about going somewhere new is that it is so new and undiscovered. Exploring it by foot is the best way to see everything, get lost, and return to the hotel in great shape – just try walking around for an entire day, and you’ll see what I mean.
Keep in mind that you should pack some good walking shoes for this, however, so that the day isn’t spoiled by blisters.
