That being said, it doesn’t excuse me from bringing some joy and quality to my boys’ lives and making sure that they are healthy and happy. But because there isn’t 100 hours in my day, I need tips, tricks, and hacks to save time, ease my load, and pretty much help me create quality experiences and healthy treats for my boys.
MAKE SURE YOU ARE PREPPED BEFORE STARTING
The last thing you want to feel is disorganized when you are trying to bake treats or make a healthy meal for your family. Always get your ingredients and equipment, utensils, and mixing bowls out first, pre-measure, and then start your baking or cooking process. Trust me, you will feel relaxed, and it turns the process into a fun one.
TIP: Wash dishes and wipe up as you go along, and at the end of the night, you will have less dishes to wash, and a semi-clean kitchen.
GET EASY RECIPES
Use the ready made packets that allow you to add the bare minimum of ingredients. You can always doctor it up if you need to, and some harder recipes can be made easier by getting the boxed or ready-packaged ingredients. Why not get something already prepped or made for you? Pie crusts, box cake, brownie mix, these can all be doctored. They are just as tasty, and hey, we’re not trying to 5-star chefs here, we’re just moms giving our kids treats and healthy meals.
USE THE RIGHT SUPPLIES
Recently, I’ve learned that using the correct supplies and utensils, makes the job 100% easier! If you need to cool your cookies, get a rack! Food processors, mixers, etc are all existing to make this easier for us! Don’t fight it! Just get the tools you need!
